Student Visa – Subclass 500

Basic Eligibility Criteria:

1. You must be of a certain age.
   • less than 17 years old when you begin Year 9
   • less than 18 years old when you begin Year 10
   • less than 19 years old when you begin Year 11
   • less than 20 years old when you begin Year 12
2. If you’re under 18 years of age, you must have adequate welfare arrangements in place.
3. You must be enrolled in a course of study in Australia.
   • You must be enrolled in a full-time course registered on the (CRICOS).
   • Provide a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for each course of study with your visa application.
4. Meet English Language requirement.
   • International English Language Testing system (IELTS Test) -Overall band score 6.0
   • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE) -50
5. Have sufficient funds for your tuition fee and stay in Australia.
   The international studentmust show they have the financial capacity to cover the year tuition fee, travel cost and the living costs of at least $24,505 AUD per year.
   Funds = living cost+one year tuition fee + travel costLiving costs calculation: 

   12-month living costs are for:

   • Students or guardians – AUD 29,710
   • Partners coming with you – AUD 10,394
   • A child coming with you – AUD 4,449

   They can also opt out annual income proof and they must provide evidence that the primary applicant’s sponsor (parent, spouse, or de facto partner) has a personal annual income, in the 12 months immediately before the application is made,

   • For single: AUD 87,856
   • For family, at least AUD 102,500
6. Meet the Genuine Student Criteria.
   • Details of your current circumstances, including ties to family, community, employment, and economic circumstances.
   • Why you chose your course and why you chose Australia as your study destination.
   • How you will benefit from studying your chosen course.
   • Details of your study history in Australia (if any).
   • If you are holding a visa other than a student visa, reasons for applying for a Student visa.
7. You must have adequate health insurance.
8. Meet health and character requirements.
