Eligibility Criteria:
To be eligible for the Training visa (subclass 407), you must meet the following requirements:
- Have an approved sponsor as a temporary activities sponsor
- Be nominated to participate in a program of occupational training
- Be 18 years old or older
- Hold a valid temporary substantive visa that is not a subclass 403 (Temporary Work (International Relations) visa in the Domestic Worker (Diplomatic or Consular stream), a subclass 771 Transit visa or a Special Purpose visa), if applying in Australia
- Meet our health and character requirements
- Have adequate health insurance
- Intend to stay temporarily in Australia
- Have functional English
- Have signed the Australian values statement
- Not owe any debt to the Australian government
- Not have had a visa cancelled or a previous application refused
There are 3 types of occupational training covered by this visa, which include:
- Occupational training required for registration
- Occupational training to improve skills in an eligible occupation
- Occupational training for capacity building overseas, including overseas qualifications, government support or professional development
